A hard foul had the Sioux Falls Thunder (1-8-2) play the second half with only ten men against Med City FC (6-2-4), which proved too much to climb out of their first half goal deficit. Despite only letting in one more goal as a direct result of the foul, the game finished 0-3 in favor of Med City.
Med City opened strong, getting a good free kick chance in the 13th minute just outside the eighteen-yard box. Thunder keeper Jack Howard scooped up the shot without problem, fending off several more Med City chances. Unfortunately Med City would open the scoring in the 24th minute as Med City midfielder Scott Neil ran in for a low cross to take an close shot. Neil would strike just before halftime, again running through the defense to chase down a through ball and score. The Thunder would actually put the ball in the back of the Med City net immediately after the restart, but Lewis Albert was ruled offside, so the team went into the halftime down two goals.
Ideas for Sioux Falls to get back into the game fizzled out when Joshua Seyer was issued a red card for a tackle against a breakaway Med City player. Med City's Lucas Hart buried the free kick to make the score 0-3. Despite the Thunder being down a player, neither team scored a goal for the rest of the game.
The Thunder return home for their last game of the season against LC Aris FC on Saturday, July 8th.
