Lower temperatures in Sioux Falls didn't lower the goals at McEneaney Field on Wednesday as the Thunder (2-6-2) failed to pick up the pair against the Dakota Fusion (3-7-0).
The Fusion started strong, cracking through the Thunder defense in just 7 minutes with a goal by Jack Pascoe, assisted by Diego Valle. Despite several chances for Thunder forwards Tyler Limmer and Stevenson Storm to equalize, Pascoe and Valle would connect once more in the 38th minute to make it 2-nil.
Valle would cap off his assists with a third goal for the Thunder in the 54th minute. The Thunder were unable to respond until the 82nd minute, when David Bizimana scored just minutes after coming off the bench. The effort was too late to mount a comeback, and the Thunder finished 1-3.
The Thunder will play their last home game Saturday, July 10th in their penultimate conference game against LC Aris.
